Hope House Photos August 2008 Alison and Gabrielle visited the Day Centre in August with Jenny, a Special Needs Teacher and Nichola a very talented Nursery Nurse.
The Day Centre was a miserable grey colour. This was transformed as they painted a beautiful blue. Some English visitors had brought colourful foam tiles to make a soft play area - we were asked if we would like 50 of the tiles for Hope House, A vision of colour was coming to life.
The children had fun with their new bubble machine, sand and water pits and a giant bowling set.
We needed to bring colour and life to the rigid way the children were being taught. Jenny certainly did this during her teaching sessions. She also introduced some simple sign language and it was amazing to see the children using it, especially Alin who is profoundly deaf.
A soft play area was made and a beautiful banner, made by John and Jackie from FLABB Church, brought life to the dull foyer. The children wanted to touch it making it sensory as well as visual.
A change has begun, colour has been introduced. The interior walls have since been painted with a mural! Romania seems far away but we can help by PRAYER and GIVING
